Ubuntu重视中国市场，中文将成为Ubuntu10.10官方语言

在刚刚结束的2010自由软件日活动中，Ubuntu创始人Mark Shuttleworth在给中国开源爱好者的视频发言中透露，在即将发行的Ubuntu10.10中，已将中文作为官方语言。据悉，Mark非常关注中国开源软件的发展，曾屡次访华，应邀出席包括一年一度的开源中国开源世界，开源盛会。发言中Mark还提及在中国设立的办事处，并邀请开源爱好者参加。

…… Ubuntu is a global project there is phenomenal Chinese Ubuntu community and in the next release of Ubuntu,‘10.10′，we will put Chinese as an official language on the CD so that people installing Ubuntu anywhere in the world can install it in Chinese and have a first class Chinese experience from the very beginning. So Ubuntu is a global project but we have strong local representation, Canonical the company behind Ubuntu has offices in China and so if you are passionate about free software and you want to be apart of Ubuntu and part of Canonical then I welcome you come along and say hello.……

9月18-19日，在中国开源软件推进联盟、ChinaUnix、哲思、龙芯俱乐部、灰狐和开源力量等众多自由/开源社区以及清华、北大、北航、北邮、四川大学、上海交大、同济大学、复旦大学、武汉大学、华中科技、兰州大学、天津大学、中国科技大学、西南大学、中科院研究生院等高校开源社团联合组织下。全国各地纷纷举办了2010自由软件日活动，覆盖了近20个城市，有近万名开源爱好者参与。诺基亚，Adobe，红帽，Canonical，火狐，中标软件等知名国内外企业专家高管，应邀参加并与各地与会者分享了他们在开源软件上宝贵的经验。
