        Gaël Duval has announced the availability of the first public development release of Ulteo Application System 2.00, a Kubuntu-based distribution with mobility tools, content synchronisation features and hundreds of desktop applications: "The new Ulteo Application System 'Polaris' is available for download as alpha software. Many applications are provided with the base-install (CD-R size) which includes Firefox and OpenOffice.org. Additional 'application balls' (desktop applications, games, etc.) can be added from the Ulteo panel once authenticated. They will download automatically from Ulteo servers. Extra language support can be added this way as well. Do not install the system with a separate /home or /boot partitions or it won't work."
