RHEL 是一个非常稳定的Linux发行版，也是业界的领袖级产品，正是因为保守的应用，导致不少初学的朋友们很难适应，最大的问题是软件的安装。虽然YUM工具也非常的方便，但只要注册了RHN的用户才能真正的享受VIP级别及简易的安装操作，虽然建立YUM本地更新库也是一个办法，毕竟不能和 RHN同日而语。
据说，CentOS的源是和RHN同步的，CentOS作为RHEL源代码重新编译产生的同胞兄弟，因此好多的人都在想能不能将RHEL的更新设置到CentOS的源上呢？当然是可以的，因为CentOS其实也就是重新编译过的RHEL，所有的东西几乎相同，至于哪一个更值得用户选择，见仁见智的问题，这里不会讨论。
