Matteo Riondato has announced the beta release of the FreeBSD-based FreeSBIE live CD, version 2.0: "After FreeSBIE GMV and FreeSBIE LVC (2.0-PREBETA), a new ISO is available from today. This is the third of a series of four ISO images: GMV, LVC, EW, and CE, with CE being hopefully FreeSBIE 2.0. The image being release today is EW, which is FreeSBIE 2.0-BETA. FreeSBIE 2.0-BETA is based on the RELENG_6 branch of FreeBSD as it was on 20061008. Ports are based on the RELEASE_6_2_0 branch. ... A known bug consists in the 'freesbie' user not allowed to use ping(8). Another problem is the date after boot: it is set to Epoch. This is still an issue in FreeSBIE-2.0-BETA but will be solved in future ISO images." Read the rest of the release announcement for further details.
