Mandrakelinux10.1安装Nvidia 1.0 6629驱动
可是没有安装kernel－source-2.6.8，安装nvidia驱动就会报错说是rivadf在运行无法安装，或者你需要编译一个新内核。所以我们要先需要手动安装
请解压开第三张ISO里面有个叫kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-12mdk.i586.rpm给安装上,用root登陆运行
#rpm -Uvh kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-12mdk.i586.rpm
之后就可以直接安装Nvidia 1.0 6629驱动
# sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run
修改/etc/X11/XF86Config文件中的这段。
Driver "nv"(or Driver "vesa")修改成
Driver "nvidia"
在 Module段, 确保你有:
Load "glx"
如果你有下面下面2个命令行应该删除
Load "dri"
Load "GLcore"
用root权限修改：
/etc/rc.local，加入modprobe nvidia
/etc/rc.sysinit，加入modprobe nvidia
二选一就可以了
重新启动
modprobe就是向内核插入模块的命令
要内核支持某个设备,要么是内核里面已经编译进该设备的驱动
要么是以模块的方式插入内核,让内核去支持该设备!

Your kernel was configed to include rivafb support as a loadable kernel module.
The rivafb driver conficts with the NVIDIA driver; the NVIDIA kernel module will still be build and installed but be aware the the NVIDIA driver will not be able to function property if the rivafb module is loaded.
问题是，找不到这个叫rivafb的东东是做什么用的，从哪儿引导的，关掉它会怎么样，以及怎么样才能关掉它。

currently broken. In general, using two independent software drivers
to drive the same piece of hardware is a bad idea.
